RM of Waverley’s story
The Rural Municipality of Waverley No. 44 was incorporated as a rural municipality on February 1, 1913. It lies in the southwest part of Saskatchewan, right up against the United States border, where its neighbour to the south is Valley County in Montana.
Within its boundaries are the unincorporated communities of Fir Mountain, Glentworth and Wood Mountain. The RM office is in Glentworth, where an elected council and an appointed administrator oversee municipal business.
Today the RM is perhaps best known for including the eastern portion of Grasslands National Park, called the East Block.
